I don't need to think about this to answer your question. Is pretty simple and can happen for many reasons, they all come to a botle neck that is called emotional/verbal or phisical abuse.





What you need to treat a spouse worse than you treat a stranger is first: an abuser, and also you need a victim. Combine these 2 and you will get the abuse happen, and you will see how one treats his/her spouse worse than stranger.





If the abuse keeps happening then that's the perfect relationship, because they have found each other, and none of the two is going to leave.





If what we named as the victim is not a victim, it doesn't matter what is going to happen, but the no-victim is going to leave and wont ever stay in that relationship.





The abuser once the victim leaves, will open her eyes a little bit and will promise changes. The victim will end up going back for a second or third round.





Then later if the victim has been proven to not to be a victim, wont ever be there again, not only that, will be able to spot abusers at the distance and next time is in a relationship, it will barely take a little sign of controlling / abuse, to have this person leave.





If the victim for other reason is left single and finds someone else, most likely will fall in love with another abuser (or haven't you heard: ';I don't know why my friend keeps finding that kind of boyfriends';?).





If you are being treated worse than strangers by your spouse, you are being abused. Ask yourself, are you or not a victim?, will you keep or not with that?. Stay or leave.

but he did not do that to other people because


he would not have gotten away with it with them.
