What鈥檚 involved with moving overseas with Army spouse? ?

Soon to be husband (within 6 months) will be getting his location orders after training. What鈥檚 involved? I assume if Germany or any other location he鈥檇 have to go first to get us a place? That difficult? Army assist? Furniture?





Also, what鈥檚 the Military鈥檚 process of choosing where he鈥檒l end up on his 1st assignment? Do they usually go by the wish list of locations?What鈥檚 involved with moving overseas with Army spouse? ?
They will send him wherever they want, and he probably will not get his wish list.





If you go overseas, then he will usually go first (it is not unheard of for the family to go with but you will likely end up in guest housing until they get you a place which could be a month or two). The movers will pack up your stuff and move you, and while you wait you will have free use of government furniture and also household items like pots, pans, plates, etc. He will have a small allotment of weight that he can send over that will get there quickly, like uniforms, gear, etc. I would recommend you put things like sheets, pans, plates, and pillows in there so you don't have to use the government stuff or buy new.
