Does it violate the law if spouse takes their kid(s) across state lines without the other spouse's consent?

Is it a violation of any law on the books? If so, can she be prosecuted? How does the law generally look at these issues?Does it violate the law if spouse takes their kid(s) across state lines without the other spouse's consent?
No. Absent a court order, or your spouse being on probation, there is nothing wrong with crossing state lines.

The law prefers these matters be settled by family, not the courts.Does it violate the law if spouse takes their kid(s) across state lines without the other spouse's consent?
Yes it called parental kid napping.

If you are in an ongoing court case and she does so both state and federal warrants can be issued.

If you are only separated then the law is a little more vague, if this is the case, file in your state now, as in 6 months the state she is in now will have jurisdiction under best interest of the child law.

The custodial parent can take the kids across state lines at any time.
Um, no....not unless you are getting divorced and there is a court order. I live 3 miles from OK and can't imagine getting arrested for going to Kroger with our kids.
It all depends on the court order / agreement.
